# Atorcom > Atorcom is a Finnish automation software company based in Karstula, Finland > (business ID 3010969-9, founded 2019). Its product DataPortia is an > on-premises industrial data acquisition and reporting application: it > connects to OPC UA automation systems, stores process data in a > PostgreSQL 18 + TimescaleDB time-series database, and produces automated > reports, real-time dashboards, alarm and event analysis, and local AI > analysis — with no cloud dependency. Atorcom is run by Antti Haaraniemi, who has over ten years of automation experience (PCS7, WinCC, TIA Portal, OPC UA). All DataPortia data storage and AI inference happen on the customer's own Windows or Linux server. No production data is sent to any external cloud service. No changes are made to the automation system. Multiple concurrent connections, each with its own measurement points and settings, and a redundant primary/secondary server pair per connection. - **Time-series storage.** PostgreSQL 18 with TimescaleDB. Throughput exceeds 2 000 values per second, about 172 million rows per day. Automatic compression after two days saves over 90 % of disk space. Retention is configurable, 24 months by default. - **Alarms and events.** OPC UA Alarms & Conditions (Part 9) subscriptions. Each event keeps the original timestamp from the automation server without truncation, displayed and exported at millisecond precision, which is what makes sequence-of-events (SOE) analysis possible. Severity, area and time filtering; Pareto, duration and severity analytics. - **Automated reports.** Aggregate reports (min, max, average, sum) in PDF, CSV and Excel, scheduled daily, weekly or monthly. Custom report templates with logo, cover page, page size and signatures. - **Dashboards and trends.** An eight-column widget grid with free placement and resizing, plus zoomable colour-coded historical trend charts with saved presets. - **Local AI analysis.** Runs on a local Ollama language model (Qwen, Gemma, DeepSeek, Llama). Anomaly detection, forecasting, cost optimisation and natural-language questions about process data. No internet connection is required and no process data leaves the customer's network. Sold as a separate module. - **Integration.** Read-only REST API v1 for measurement points, history data, alarms and connection status, authenticated with an API key at 120 requests per minute per key. HMAC-signed outbound webhooks with automatic retries. - **High availability.** Redundant OPC UA server pairs, PostgreSQL streaming replication, automated by DataPortia Failover Controller (DPFC) on both Windows and Linux, or by pg_auto_failover or Patroni on Linux, and application-tier active-passive failover in which a standby instance takes over data acquisition automatically in about 15-30 seconds when the process dies with the machine still up (a whole-machine loss needs TCP keepalive tuning in postgresql.conf). The application tier requires a separate HA add-on licence. - **Calculation circuits.** Formula-based derived measurement points, for example kW → kWh, which adapt to the report's time range. ## In development, not yet available - **SMS alerting.** An add-on for routing alarms to on-call teams is under development. It has not been tested in a production environment and is not currently available. These are compatibility statements, not partnerships. ## Licensing Licensing is based on the number of concurrent OPC UA connections. There are seven perpetual tiers and seven floating tiers. Prices start at 4 000 € as a one-time perpetual licence. The AI analysis module is a separate 499 € add-on, and redundancy (high availability) requires its own HA add-on licence of 1 000 €, which covers a whole server pair. The base licence is hardware-bound, so a redundant pair needs either a base licence per node or a floating licence. A 30-day trial includes all features EXCEPT the HA add-on, which is never included in a trial; it starts by contacting Atorcom, who supplies the installation package and a trial licence.
