Pricing and licensing
DataPortia™ pricing comes down to one thing: how many OPC UA connections the software is licensed to open. There are seven tiers, from a single connection to unlimited, and every tier is a perpetual licence paid once. The number of users, measurement points or reports is not counted.

A DataPortia licence is determined by the number of simultaneous OPC UA connections. Seven tiers from Basic to Unlimited, with prices from 4 000 € as a perpetual licence. AI analysis is a separate 499 € add-on and redundancy has an HA add-on of its own. The trial runs for 30 days with no commitment.

What is DataPortia's price based on?
The price scales with the number of simultaneous OPC UA connections. One connection means one OPC UA server in an automation system that DataPortia connects to. The number of users, the number of measurement points, report templates and dashboards are not counted separately. In practice the size of the plant sets the tier, not how many people look at it.

What is a floating licence?
The basic licence is tied to hardware: it is locked to the hardware identifier of the machine DataPortia is installed on. A floating licence is not. It covers the same seven tiers from Basic to Unlimited, but the right to use it moves between installations. The practical reason for choosing floating is most often redundancy — in a two-server pair a hardware-bound licence would be needed separately for each server.
In more detail: which form to choose
The hardware-bound basic licence is enough in the most common case: DataPortia is installed on one server at the plant and used through a browser. Neither form limits the number of browser users.
The floating form is the one to take when there are several installations or when a redundant pair is being built. The AI analysis, HA and SMS add-ons are licensed per installation, so they work on both servers of the pair after a failover as well — only the basic licence is machine-specific.
Which add-ons are available?
There are three add-ons. The AI analysis module is a separate 499 € one-off payment that opens up anomaly detection, forecasts and natural-language questions run by a local language model. High availability, that is redundancy, needs an HA add-on licence of its own, a 1 000 € one-off payment. SMS alerts are still in development and cannot be ordered. Everything else is part of the basic licence.

The HA add-on is licensed per installation and one licence covers the whole server pair. It is not included in the 30-day trial, unlike the AI module: the redundancy switch cannot be turned on in the trial version. The basic licence is hardware-bound as well, so each server needs a basic licence of its own — or a floating licence. See Redundancy and high availability.
SMS alerts have not been tested in a production environment, so I do not sell them and I do not take orders for them. If alarms have to get out of the system now, it is done with a webhook to the receiving system. See REST API and webhooks.
In more detail: what the basic licence includes
Data acquisition, time-series storage, alarms and events, dashboards, trends, automatic reports and your own report templates, the REST API, webhooks and calculation points are all part of the licence. Only the add-ons above are priced separately.
The user interface is in Finnish, English, Swedish and German. The choice of language does not affect the price.
What does the 30-day trial include?
The trial has the features in it and carries no commitment — with one exception: the HA add-on, that is redundancy, is never part of a trial period. It is installed in your own environment and connected to a real automation system — the trial then tells you what it should: whether the connection works, whether the right points show up and whether you get a report you can pass on. I deliver the installation package and the trial licence when you get in touch.
In more detail: what the trial needs from your environment
You need a Windows or Linux server, a network connection to the automation system's OPC UA server and credentials for it. The minimum requirements are 8 GB of memory and 100 GB of SSD storage; 16–32 GB is recommended. An internet connection is not needed, because everything runs locally.

Frequently asked questions
Below are the things asked most often about buying: what the licence includes, what happens when the plant grows, where the licence can be bought and how long the right of use lasts. If the purchase needs a quotation or a written price list, ask for it directly — I send it by email.
Are support and updates included in the price?
Tell me in your request for quotation what length of support and what update practice the purchase requires, and I will write it into the quotation. Support is available in Finnish and English. I do not put support terms on this page that I cannot keep up to date — they belong in the quotation, where they are binding.
What happens if more connections are added?
The tier moves to the next one. The software is not reinstalled and the collected data is not moved anywhere — the licence changes, use continues. This is common when a new process area or a second automation system is connected to the plant.
Can the licence be bought from a reseller?
Yes. PCS-Engineering Oy acts as the reseller. The same software and the same licence tiers are available directly from Atorcom as well. If the purchasing channel matters, because of a framework agreement for instance, mention it when you get in touch.
How long is a perpetual licence valid?
Indefinitely. The licence is a one-off payment that leaves the right of use with you — it is not renewed annually and it does not expire. There is no subscription model.
Do the prices include VAT?
The prices mentioned on this page are exclusive of tax. Value added tax is added to the invoice at the rate in force. Atorcom's VAT number is FI30109699.
How do I get an exact price?
Tell me how many OPC UA connections the plant has. On that basis I will send the price list and, where needed, a quotation. If you do not know the number of connections yet, start with the trial — it becomes clear during the first installation and commits you to nothing.
